Trainee Train Managers

We are currently looking for Trainee Train Managers to join our fast paced and
dynamic company to assist in the safe and punctual running of our services. This

As a qualified Train Manager, you will be responsible for providing an efficient
and friendly service to passengers including; safe operation of train doors, issuing
tickets, collecting revenue, and dealing with customer queries and issues.
What you get:
$20.48 per hour. Rising to $21.75 (dependent on length of service)
Five weeks paid Annual Leave
Overtime rates of time and a half, and double time for Sundays
Extensive training leading to an NZQA Qualification.
What we are looking for:
Customer service experience, with a strong focus on generating customer
Experience of dealing with a broad range of the public
Effective communication -- a high standard of literacy, both written and oral,
Ability to take charge of situations and communicate assertively
A high degree of numeracy coupled with cash handling experience
The ability to stay calm under pressure and work efficiently
High level of decision making skills
High level of resistance to stressful situations, and ability to handle those
Ability to lead a team, work closely with your team
Confidence to work a busy train on your own when required.
You will be required to start your shifts at Westfield station yard, near Otahuhu.

A full, clean, current NZ Driver's Licence
A good grasp of Health and Safety awareness
The ability to work shifts over a 24 hour, seven day period.
This is a safety critical role, and requires good hearing, vision (including accurate
colour vision), mobility and strength, as well as some mechanical aptitude e.g.
some of the duties involve coupling and uncoupling train hoses, operating the
track switch-lock, and assisting with service emergencies.
